Electromagnetic solutions could offer high workloads. But those units are not designed to operate in a high duty cycle environment, when continuously activated and deactivated, the winding of the electromagnet starts to heat and deteriorate. This after several month operations resulted in higher current consumptions and burned cables. 

The switchable magnet AR series offered by PES perfectly meets the above-mentioned expectations. They combine power and compactness for full structured bin picking capabilities.

Indeed, the robot shall slip into the parts to touch the magnet working surface that are hard to access but EOAT size is also critical for access in bin corners at different depths.

Slip ring are the best way to wire components that move. Indeed, cable carriers often induce cinematic constraints and low reliability thatSlip ring make disappear.

With more than 20 years of experience in industrial processes, PES provides a safe, reliable and fast tool changing solution and this even with large and heavy EOAT. It embeds electrical and pneumatic safety loop coupled to a cam lock design that allows a repetitive and safe tool change

The common link, regardless of the final application, is the use of a Slip Ring or a Rotary Union. Cable reels usually transmit power and electric signals, data and different kind of fluids; instead, in case of high-frequency signals, high data rate or where a low bit error rate (BER) is required, the proper result is achieved with a fiber optic rotary joint. Our product range can cover nearly all application from power signals to high data rate or optical signals for cables and from pressurized air to hydraulic oil for rotary union.

PES has developed a plug-and-play solution to answer this need and make integration easy for those who use rotary tables. It is made up of a single-pass rotary union combined with a thru-bore slip ring that offers 24V power supply, field bus connection (Profinet, Ethernet, EtherCAT, etc.) and optionally 400V power supply. This hybrid rotary union assembly comes with the mechanical parts to allow easy mounting on the rotary table. The latter comes this way equipped with the rotary interfaces that can meet nearly all automation application needs.

In this particular case, retrieving the information from the set of moving sensors generally requires the use of a slip ring. PES has a large experience in providing slip ring solutions for test benches for many applications. Our large range of standard and custom products allows us to define the exact component needed for a specific test bench (compact size, a large number of circuits, high rotating speed up to 5000rpm).

For this specific purpose, PES has developed a modular EOAT solution based on its magnetic gripper product line.

Benefits of pneumatically actuated magnetic grippers (flexibility, reliability, energy efficiency) come to serve your destacking application. Used with the sheet fanner tool which allows performing a pre-separation of the sheets on the stack and avoids blanks sticking issues, this solution can reach up to 100% single sheet destacking performance in all conditions. 

Among those new tools, once can find magnet grippers. They consist in a pneumatically or electrically actuated mobile magnet placed above a fixed one in order to activate an outer magnetic field that allows handling of ferrous parts while being extremely compact. Magnetic power is already installed in the product so the need for energy is minimal. And, unlike common preconception, residual magnetism of handled parts stays low.
