Slip rings are used in system requiring transmission of electrical power and/or signals from a stationary to a bi-directional, intermittent or continiously rotating structure.

What is the maximum rotation speed?
As a standard, our rotary unions are rated for continuous operation at 600 rpm. The maximum speed largely depends on the usage cycle – higher speeds can lead to overheating and premature wear. It involves a trade-off between performance and lifespan. In general, we can easily achieve speeds of up to 1500 rpm while maintaining reasonable lifespan.
Do you offer flat models?
We do not produce what are commonly referred to as "pancake" models with concentric rings on PCBs. Our flat models involve a concentric assembly of various unions, allowing for multiple circuits within a limited height.
Can fiber optics pass through your rotary unions?
Fiber optics use an independent system. Fiber Optic Rotary Joints (FORJs) utilize prisms to guide light within the rotating connection. They can be compact and combined with electrical rotary unions. Monochannel or multichannel FORJs can be combined, but they cannot have a through-bore.
Can we transmit HD video through a rotary union?
Yes, even in standard models, our rotary unions with the "E1G" Gigabit option can transmit GigE-Vision signals. It's also possible to transmit HDMI or HD-SDI signals with appropriate models. These signals can be combined with other data or power signals.
Can sensitive signals and motor power be combined in a single rotary union?
Yes, many applications combine sensitive signal transmission with power transmission. For example, for servo motors, power is often combined with measurement or communication signals in the same cable. Hybrid cables can be directly integrated or "emulated" with commercial cables, allowing integration of various standards: DRIVE-CliQ, PowerLink, Sercos, Ethercat, etc. The arrangement of ground/shield paths and power distribution is carefully designed to avoid interference.
Can terminals or connectors be directly attached to the slip ring?
Our rotary union manufacturing process typically involves cable output. Some models like SVTS B offer terminals or connectors directly on the union. PES also has an engineering department and wiring workshop capable of creating any required connectivity (plugs, bases, terminals) according to your needs, while adapting mechanical interfaces.
What are your delivery times?

Do your slip rings require maintenance?
Our slip rings are guaranteed to be maintenance-free throughout their entire lifespan (10 to 100 million revolutions, depending on the model).
Are there solutions that allow both pneumatic and electrical connections in the same unit?
Yes, we offer hybrid solutions that combine electrical needs with all types of fluids in a single integrated unit.
Do you offer UL-certified solutions?
UL-compliant products available upon request, with UL certification possible.
